Manages and directs, with accountability and responsibility, nursing services and staff and coordinates the activities of hospital support personnel during the evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts, ensuring the delivery of integrated patient-centered care and uninterrupted services. Implements policies and procedures, union contract provisions, accreditation and other regulatory requirements. Provides direct patient care and coverage when necessary and within the scope of professional practice and license.
Collaborates and reports directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) and department managers regarding the administrative management of the hospital during these shifts. Keeps the Manager, Nursing Services (Manager) and DON informed of issues related to patient care, operations, risk and continuous improvement activities, on a timely basis.
Current State of Hawaii RN licensure. Current healthcare CPR certification within one (1) month from date of hire (Healthcare provider course or equivalent which includes neonatal, child, adult and AED's) and maintains certification thereafter. Completion of competencies and other job-related and REHAB requirements.
