REHAB accepts inpatient referrals from physicians, case managers, discharge planners, commercial carriers and other healthcare organizations utilizing general acute rehabilitation criteria. Upon receipt of a new referral, REHAB’s admissions office will gather specific information about the patient’s illness or injury, including insurance provider. Once admission is processed, preparations for inpatient care can be made.
Transportation to REHAB
Referring hospital will inform patients about the available options and costs when arranging transportation to REHAB. If patients are transported by family or friends, it is recommended that central registration office is contacted upon arrival for wheelchair assistance.
Hospital Entrance/Drop Off
REHAB inpatient entrance is located in the back of the building. When turning into the REHAB parking lot off of Kuakini street, drive up along the diamond head side of the hospital and turn left. Central registration office is conveniently located inside the lobby by the elevator.
What to Wear and Bring
Patients are encouraged to wear their own clothes as daily function of dressing themselves is part of the recovery process. All personal items should be labeled prior to arrival.
Valuables
Patients are highly encouraged to have money and/or valuables kept at home for safekeeping. If unable to do so, REHAB’s lock boxes are available for use. Please note that REHAB cannot be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged valuables.
Admission Process
Upon arrival to REHAB, care begins with central registration. Depending on the patient’s condition, the registration process will be completed in the office or in the patient room. During the registration process, the registrar will:
Visiting Hours
We welcome patient’s family and friends to participate in the healing process. Inform the nurse in charge if patient’s caregiver plans to visit outside of general visiting hours.
Monday-Friday 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Weekends and Holidays 11:30 am to 8:30 pm
Parking
Visitors may park on the diamond head side of the hospital. During general visiting hours, parking may also be made available in the rear parking area of REHAB. There is no charge for parking. Guests should register their cars at one of the information desks located on the first floor of the hospital.
